CC-DB received and immediately returned the second term of President Rumen Radev.
After receiving and returning the mandate, Asen Vasilev explained that he and President Radev had discussed the changes in the Electoral Code and "what we see as a huge danger with the introduction of new machines less than two months before the elections."
He added, "The goal is to fully switch to paper voting, claiming that with new machines it will not be possible to vote in these elections."
According to Vasilev, GERB, MRF, and TISP want to introduce so-called "vote-counting machines" within 2 months. By February 10, these machines must be purchased, tested, configured, and tested again. According to Vasilev, "it is clear to everyone that this is impossible."
He continued, "So that's why they're suggesting it. They will say, 'We removed the machines that work. "We have already placed 100% new machines, but unfortunately they will not be ready for the elections, so we are returning to paper ballots. And that is exactly their cursed plan," stated Vassilev.
He urged Bulgarian citizens to protest in order to "stop this plan."
"With 100% machines, three different parties have won the elections. There Is Such a People - July, 2021. We - November, 2021. GERB - October. The machines are chosen by GERB. The government of Boyko Borisov placed the order and made these machines. If they don't like them now - why did they choose them then?."
He called for a return to 100% machines "for a simple reason - why are 100% machines bothering them?"
