GERB leader Boyko Borisov has rejected Ahmed Dogan's request for ministerial and deputy ministerial positions, Epicenter.bg has learned. This comes after Dogan announced his new power ambitions this morning. The three parties forming the future government - GERB, BSP, and TISP- have all been firm in their stance that they will not give positions in the executive branch due to Dogan's "golden touch."
As already reported by Epicenter.bg, Ahmed Dogan's people requested one minister, six deputy ministers, four regional governors, and the head of the "Agriculture Fund." To this, Borissov replied: No!
After the refusal, negotiations were halted until Ahmed Dogan decides whether to honor the initial agreement with GERB to support the cabinet. Currently, at Dogan's side are the chairman of ARF Dzhevdet Chakarov and MP Dzheyhan Ibryamov, while the other three parties await their response, reports "24 Hours." It also emphasizes: For now, GERB, BSP, and TISP have no plan on what kind of support to seek for their cabinet if Ahmed Dogan's people withdraw.
Borissov, however, is deeply disappointed by the fact that supposedly "the greatest politician of the transition period" did not keep his promise or his word of "unconditional" support for the government.
Additionally, Dogan has demanded real influence over the government's decisions, according to the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR).
