"At the moment, we are faced with two philosophies. On one side, there are Borisov and Peevski, who say, "Give us a chance to show that we can do it differently." And the other is for the CC to ostracize the two. Against stability, continuous elections are proposed. Peevski and Borisov are not lying, but they are openly managing together. And in the chaos, periodic cries of "Down" can be heard," PR expert Diana Damyanova also said on the BNT broadcast.
"The coalition has calmed down from the temporary explosion caused by this reformatting. It is stable, there is economic growth in the country, but that is the only good news. From there on, the bad news begins, because with this great giveaway, I don't know what kind of chaos and mess they can drag us into," PR expert and political analyst Diana Damyanova also said on the show "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov".
"The administration has an incredible ability to grow, but continues to maintain this privileged regime. And now it turns out that the private sector will be burdened with a 2% increase in contributions," she pointed out.
According to her, BSP (Bulgarian Socialist Party) has been the most successful in achieving its goals, pushing the government to the left.
"Something has been born that is more difficult to manage. And it is called the middle class," she claims.
Damyanova also commented on the crisis with "Lukoil". "It is one of the largest producers of aviation fuel in the region and in this sense it can stop the planes. The government is dealing with the crisis. I worked at "Lukoil" for 17 years and I can say that a halt to "Lukoil" can cause huge damages. I see that Delian Dobrev is trying to find a way out. What he is doing are the right steps." The government is trying in every way to deal with the crisis," summarized Damianova.
According to her, state ownership is the "cancerous education that breeds corruption".
She also said that President Rumen Radev is not a competitor to the CC-DB, but for her, the best thing he can do is to go out to the field. "To deliver his New Year's speech and to go out to the field, because his duty is the speech for New Year," said Diana Damianova.
According to her, "Borisov and Peevski will not allow Radev to go to elections while he carries the aura of head of state". "He sees himself as a savior of the nation, but everyone in Bulgaria sees themselves as a savior of the nation," added Diana Damianova.
Later, Diana Damianova commented on the same issues on the show "Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov" on NOVA NEWS.
Will Rumen Radev form his own political party? Damyanova expressed her opinion that during the past four years, the president has been put in a situation "to possess all the power" – both as head of state and executive.
"It seems as though his desire to rule is so strong, that he is preparing to enter the political arena. However, he can only do so if there are elections," she said. But she added that at this stage, such elections are not expected at least until after the president's term ends.
"I highly doubt that Europe and the USA will allow the purchase of 'Lukoil' by a front company," stated Damyanova, who was also part of the top management of Lukoil in Bulgaria. "The company 'Gunvor' has become one of the largest fuel distributors in Europe." They are working unimpeded. This is a good solution for both the Russian company and the European Union. I assume this will be a brokerage deal – a temporary solution – they will buy the assets and scatter them into pieces," she added.
According to her, the most expensive part of oil production is its transportation. In this sense, every operation carried out with "Neftohim" must be done with the utmost care.
The biggest challenge for the government will be to deal with this problem, which was not created by them, Damyanova said.
She also commented on the question of whether the state can impose a veto on the decision of who will acquire the company and stop the deal.
"All changes made in order for SANS to give its opinion on the potential buyer have not commented on a compact deal. It seems highly unrealistic to me that the Bulgarian government could oppose if such a deal is accepted at the level of the USA and EU - which would mean that this buyer will not face sanctions and will be able to operate," said Damyanova.
She emphasized that "Lukoil" is the defining company and any movement in its activities has a ripple effect on prices.
"Even before, I supported the idea of thoroughly scrutinizing the potential buyer of 'Lukoil'. Now the situation is different. I do not believe that if Trump and von der Leyen accept this sale, our country will oppose it," reiterated the PR expert.
Damyanova believes that an attempt should be made to negotiate and preserve the operations of "Lukoil Neftohim" Burgas AD. She was adamant that "Neftohim" should not stop working.
