Following an order by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Dora Yankova has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works.
Yankova graduated in Geography from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and in Law from Varna Technical University. She has been a member of Parliament in the 38th, 42nd, 43rd and 44th National Assembly, as well as Deputy Chairperson of the Commission for Regional Policy, Urban Planning and Local Self-Government. From 2003 to 2011, Yankova served as Mayor of Smolyan municipality and was also Chairperson and member of the Management Board of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria.
Todor Chobanov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Culture. Chobanov previously held the same position from 2009 to 2011. For many years he has been a Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Sofia, in charge of "Education, Culture, Sports and Prevention of Dependencies". He has also worked as Head of the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate at the National Center for Museums, Galleries and Visual Arts under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Chobanov holds a Master's degree in "History and Archaeology" and a PhD in Archaeology from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". He has participated in numerous scientific research projects in the field of archaeology and preservation of cultural heritage.
Ilko Ganev has been dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Culture, and Natalia Miteva - from the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Science. Mihaela Krumova has also been dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Environment and Water.
