"This is the only possible and correct budget that this government can make, without reducing any social spending. On the contrary - they are increasing.
This was stated by the chairman of the Parliamentary Group of BSP-United Left, Dragomir Stoynev, from the parliamentary tribune during the discussion of the budget of the State Social Security.
He pointed out that this year the minimum wage is being increased - from 933 BGN to 1077 BGN, by the mechanism proposed by the BSP - to be 50% of the average salary in the country. Along with that, the minimum insurance income is also increasing - from 933 BGN to 1077 BGN, as well as all pensions by 8.6%. Stoynev emphasized that all of this is happening without increasing taxes and without taking away social rights."
The socialist criticized the opposition, which claims that the budget is not left-leaning enough, while also saying that it makes a leftist turn. "We have an unprecedented growth in social spending of 760 million BGN, with it now exceeding 3.6 billion BGN. Never before in the country have there been so many funds for social policy, thanks to the ruling majority. There has been political instability in the country and finally a budget had to be adopted, which satisfies the left-wing people," Stoynev said firm.
He defended the increase of the maximum insurance income in the budget: "The wealthier a person is, the more they should contribute to the system."
The leader of the left in parliament also said that it cannot be expected of a two-month-old government to solve all the problems in the country. "You were invited to this government, the door is open. Come if you have the political courage and say what reforms need to be made. The ruling majority will hear you," Dragomir Stoynev turned to the group of CC-DB.
