The European Parliament approved the introduction of a common European list of safe countries of origin, as well as a clearer application of the "safe third country" principle.
For Bulgaria, this means faster procedures, more effective management of migration pressure and better protection of the external borders.
"The decisions adopted are a step towards clearer rules and a functioning system that will ease the pressure on EU external border states like Bulgaria. They will not solve all the problems, but are a necessary foundation for more effective migration control," said Stanislav Stoyanov.
The adopted changes were supported by the delegation of "Revival" in the European Parliament, led by Stanislav Stoyanov and part of the "Europe of sovereign nations" group.
"The delegation of 'Revival' in the European Parliament will continue to work for policies that strengthen border security, limit illegal migration, and protect the interests of Bulgaria within the European Union," stated Stoyanov, Chairman of the European party ESF and Vice-Chairman of the corresponding parliamentary group.
