"The 20 euro is the fuel assistance for the poorest, at the beginning of the crisis in the Middle East an interdepartmental group was created, with the developed mechanism including two tracks - physical and legal persons," said interim Minister of Labor and Social Policy Hasan Ademov on "This Morning" on bTV.
He explained that the criteria for physical persons is "average monthly income of up to twice the poverty line (390 euro), meaning anyone with income up to this amount is eligible if they also own personal vehicles."
Ademov clarified that the amount of 20 euro was determined because "if we assume that the average monthly expense is around 100 euro for fuel, the growth trend is between 15-20%."
In the case of two cars per household, if they are registered under two physical persons, they will receive two times 20 euro, Ademov further commented.
And he added that "NRA has a database, if you meet the criteria, you will receive this amount. By the end of the month, the mechanism will be activated and there will be no need for people to take any actions, they will not have to submit applications".
The acting minister also explained that if someone has not received the aid but believes they meet the criteria, they should go to the NRA. And he added: "As long as the fuel prices remain high, people will receive assistance for that long".
In connection with the pre-election checks, Ademov commented that in Blagoevgrad for example, "the director of the Social Assistance Directorate calls people and convinces them who to vote for, this is unacceptable and we will take measures".
