The possibility for presidential project has been exhausted due to the participation of the presidential institution in the political crisis we are witnessing - a series of caretaker governments and several scandals with them, failure to manage several crises, one of which was the second wave of COVID, which happened right before the presidential elections.
This was stated by political analyst Hristo Panchugov in an interview for BNR.
"Radev used the institution for a situational war with the other institutions, in order to make it seem like serious work was being done.
Without having a plan - the several requests that came from the presidential institution were not fulfilled. For example, they promised us a new Constitution which would solve the problems of the Bulgarian political process, but that did not happen.
The question is how exactly Rumen Radev envisions forming the government from now on, given his recent shift towards the east, where there is something he promised to fight against - a façade democracy that quickly turned into dictatorship," the political analyst commented.
The December protests brought Rumen Radev back into the game, he added:
"The behavior of CC-DB suggests that Radev's project is the only one they could potentially make a coalition with, otherwise they have rejected all others," Panchugov noted.
According to him, there is a deep misunderstanding that "political representation cannot be achieved solely through loud phrases and by trying to create big stories that no one believes in."
According to him, the electoral technology cannot provide a projected victory for any political formation:
"To blame the electoral system for the results would be extremely strange and harmful," warned Hristo Panchugov.
