The uncertainties and turbulence of the international markets require flexibility and ambition from businesses, but also a good attitude towards people. The most important thing for the development of the Bulgarian economic system is the investment in human capital and the improvement of qualifications.
They make businesses sustainable. This was stated by President Iliyana Yotova during the "Investor of the Year" awards ceremony for 2025, announced by the press office of the head of state.
The competition for companies and investment projects is being held for the 20th time by the Bulgarian Investment Agency. The ceremony brought together representatives from the business sector, institutions, employer organizations, and bilateral trade and industrial chambers.
The head of state congratulated all participants in the competition, noting that thanks to the increase in qualifications, businesses are taking advantage of the opportunities offered by new technologies and scientific achievements.
"This is how your companies develop and become leaders in their industries, and their successes go beyond the geographical borders of Bulgaria," said Iliyana Yotova. According to the president, respect for the dignity of workers should be a priority for responsible investors. "The attitude towards the common man and the work he puts in actually develops an entire universe," the head of state added.
Iliyana Yotova pointed out that by conducting business in Bulgaria, investors increase trust in our country as a good place for business. The awarded companies are representatives of various fields, demonstrating the richness of our country and the potential for development, the President added.
She highlighted the prospects for building a giant artificial intelligence factory in our country, supported by the European Commission. This will turn Bulgaria into a regional leader in Southeast Europe, said Iliyana Yotova. Through difficult times, Europe has learned that our main priority should be the development of our own industry, she further stated and highlighted new opportunities for industrialization.
The head of state awarded the Bulgarian Investment Agency with the President's Honorary Sign on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and for its key role in realizing significant investment projects in our country. Iliyana Yotova presented the grand prize at the competition of "BT El Industries Bulgaria" - a global leader in the production of high-tech medical equipment. The company is expanding its production in the country and exports its products to over 120 countries worldwide.
The "Investor of the Year" awards recognize companies and investment projects that contribute to the economic development of the country, creating new jobs, integrating innovations, and promoting sustainable growth of the Bulgarian economy.
