On Wednesday, Borisov and Peevski agreed to help as much as they can (and they both can), so that the government can complete its mandate.
Immediately, analyses started pouring in, fingers were pointed at the mafia, speeches were made (including from the parliamentary tribune), threatening fingers were waved, clenched fists were raised, the Artificial Intelligence was used to create crude memes with pumpkins and pigs, and then they were proudly posted on social media, and so on.
But why not apply Occam's razor and admit that two men with real power have done what needs to be done? They have done what needs to be done because they want to and because they can. Because they are not in a hurry - they have nothing to lose - and because at the moment, everything is good for everyone.
I just don't know what the smart and beautiful analysts will do when Borisov and Peevski face each other, which will inevitably happen one day.
The smart and beautiful analysts are not capable of neutrally observing things. Instinctively, they feel it is their duty to take sides in any situation, to say: "This one is good, while the other one is bad". When Borisov and Peevski clash, who will be the good one? Whom will they praise and whose support will they come out in - Borisov's or Peevski's - considering they have both been publicly humiliated? This, however, is an interesting question and you have every right to ask me: But you, Uncle Ivan, who will you root for when Borisov and Peevski fight? I will tell you, but not now. I will tell you when the time comes.
In short, on Wednesday Borisov and Peevski agreed on a full mandate for the government. Peevski does not want ministries in this cabinet, nor leadership positions in parliamentary committees, in order to not change anything in the current form of support. The goal is "to ensure stability and consistency," according to the statement after the meeting. In practice, this puts an end to the political crisis, if there was one at all. And everyone who was tempted to see the Mareshki affair in Pazardzhik as a global flood was disappointed. Sad reactions were not late to follow.
As far as I understand, Peevski has promised support for the cabinet without asking for anything specific in return at this stage. And it seems that some people find it difficult to understand this.
Bozhidar Bozhanov: Bulgaria is in a systemic political crisis because the real center of decision-making is outside the constitutional institutions. - If the crisis is "systemic," then the entire "system" is in crisis and this includes other authorities, including that of the CC . And it is exactly like this. Could Kircho be the "real center of power"?
Radostin Vassilev: It is now clear to everyone that Boyko Borisov is destroyed. His word is of no importance to either "There is such a people" or BSP.
- Let us reverently remain silent in front of this analysis! "Revival" chairman Kostadin Kostadinov announced that his party is preparing legislative changes to prohibit anyone sanctioned under the global "Magnitsky" law from holding any high government or party positions in Bulgaria.
- When did Kostya Kopeikin™ become so attached to American legislation? For him, isn't anyone who is an enemy of the US and the EU automatically a friend? He could even raise his hand tomorrow to sanctioned Putin! And wouldn't it be better to pass legislative changes that would prevent anyone who is not a member, sympathizer, or voter of "Revival" from occupying "any high government or party positions in Bulgaria"?
- Ivaylo Mirchev: Strategic decisions with Borisov are made in the rabbit hole where he plays belote. As the "Titanic" sinks, the captains dare not rearrange the sofa - a typical language for the most beautiful, most intelligent, most educated and well-mannered. In fact, in terms of origin, compared to the arrogant and pompous Mirchev, Borisov is a patrician.
And Mirolyuba Benatova, together with BOEC and Demerdzhiev on Thursday - one day after the meeting between Borisov and Peevski - announced that Borisov and Peevski are behind the symbolic murders in Bulgaria, both separately and together. These people are always ready with the right subject at the right moment!
I expect Bulgarian investigative (and any other) journalism to soon shed light on the link between Borisov and Peevski and the floods, earthquakes and strange continental drift.
Making the agreement that for a while now I haven't been voting for anyone due to reasons such as my bad legs and our section being on the last floor of the neighborhood school, to the point that in political platforms and especially in the ideology of all parties I find things that I cannot agree with and cannot give authority to their representatives, with this agreement (not to accuse me of campaigning for anyone), let's see who is who in this political moment of ours (or how they seem to me, as a more and more distant observer, the players):
I personally know Borisov and I like him. If someone says that Borisov is simple and foolish, they themselves are not too intelligent. Borisov's biggest flaw is his vanity, but it also drives him towards grandiose actions. His biggest advantage is that he is devout and God-fearing. Generally, such people have a more adequate understanding of power compared to others.
I don't know Peevski and I can't say anything, but a person who has achieved his results, at least has intelligence and character. It is true that I have heard bad things about him from people who know him, and this fills me with concern at the thought that he may take power and appoint ministers and heads of services and agencies based on his familiarity.
Notice that I call GERB and MRF-NEW BEGINNING by the names of their leaders, even though these are not typical leadership parties, but these two personalities, not without the raging involvement of the media, have become so prominent that they embody everything behind them.
The CC-DB coalition, where DB is also a coalition on its own, is a relatively unstable political entity, as the weight of the partners within it is uneven and can generate potential tension. Nonetheless, such a subject has its place, as it has a very real electoral base - all progressives (as the left liberals are called), who unfortunately genetically carry many traits of the Bolsheviks in Russia and the Red Guards in China during the Cultural Revolution (Do you remember Mao Zedong's "Campaign against the Four Pests" - rats, flies, mosquitoes, and sparrows - in which the sparrows were declared "enemies of the people" because they were pecking at the grain; when the Communists killed the sparrows, the grain was devoured by the locusts, which were the sparrows' main source of food. This leads to the mass hunger of 1959-1961. Sorry for the deviation. There have always been Hunweibins under one name or another and it is normal for them to have political representation.
Another significant political player are the so-called "patriots" - populists and euroskeptics, advocates of Russian influence, among which "Revival" shines the brightest in the present historical moment, but before that others have shone and others will shine when "Revival" falls.
It is paradoxical that the traditional communists, in their effort to survive, have adopted conservative and Christian values. But it will take more time before we believe them.
And let us repeat, so that there are no misunderstandings. When we say who is best to govern, we do it from the perspective that the goal is for the people to live in material comfort, tranquility, legality and security. In other words - we are interested in life here and now. But if the goal is for people to be crowned with halos of saints, then the work becomes completely different. It's silly for us to be in the European Union as it is now, but from the perspective of material comfort there is no better option.
Otherwise, yes - an absolute monarchy with an intelligent, cultured and God-fearing monarch is best, but...
Besides that, I think Carthage should be destroyed.
