A new functional analysis of the activity of the State Enterprise "Scientific-Production Center" at the Agricultural Academy (AA) is currently being prepared, which will be ready by the end of the month.
This was announced by the acting Minister of Agriculture and Food, Ivan Hristov, in response to a question from MP Angel Yanchev from the "Revival" Party regarding the financial situation and future restructuring of the state enterprise.
Minister Hristov added that after the analysis was completed, a final decision will be made on the method and timeline for the restructuring of the enterprise, as well as a detailed plan-schedule for the stages and activities related to this process, including measures for recovery.
Ivan Hristanov pointed out that the State Enterprise "Scientific-Production Center" has been assigned experimental-production, applied and scientific-applied activities in the field of crop production, livestock farming, soil resource preservation and preservation of the national gene pool. The responsibilities of the enterprise include testing and implementation of new plant varieties, new breeds and hybrids of agricultural animals, organization of model fields and farms for the cultivation of crops and animals, production of seeds, planting material, breeding animals, fish stock material, silkworms and bees.
Hristanov cites a report prepared by the director of the scientific-production center regarding the financial state of the enterprise, according to which there are projected revenues for 2025. The expenses amount to 2,591,049 leva and costs of 3,487,380 leva, including personnel expenses of 2,204,025 leva. Overdue obligations for social security contributions and taxes to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food are in the amount of 3,109,835 leva, while other overdue obligations are in the amount of 66,820 leva, the minister said.
