German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the country’s intelligence chief, Martin Jaeger, are trying to draw Germany into confrontation with Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in Moscow on October 5.
Zakharova highlighted a statement by Jaeger in which he allegedly said that he saw a danger of violent confrontation between Germany and Russia.
“People like Jaeger, under Merz’s command, are trying to drag Germans into another round of confrontation with Russia,” Zakharova said.
