Bulgaria mourns with the brotherly people of the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM), stated the Chairman of the National Assembly Nataliya Kiselyova, as reported by BTA. She visited the embassy of RNM to express condolences for the victims of the fire at a nightclub in Kochani.
This is a sorrow that should show that when evil comes, when tragedy strikes, we should help each other, said Kiselyova. She expressed hope that the grief will be easier to overcome, because the loss of lives there is immense.
These are people who were just starting their life journey, and for their relatives and loved ones, life now looks completely different, noted the parliament's chairman. She pointed out that the ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia in our country, Agnesa Rusi Popovska, has expressed her gratitude for the efforts made by Bulgarian doctors to help the children being treated in our hospitals.
Earlier today, President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Yotova also expressed their condolences for the casualties in the Republic of North Macedonia.
A total of 59 people were killed and over 150 were injured with varying degrees of burns and injuries after a fire broke out in a nightclub in the city of Kochani, Republic of North Macedonia, during a concert early on Sunday. Some of the injured have been transported to Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, and Serbia for treatment. 14 of the injured are currently being treated in Bulgaria.
