The leader of the MRF-NB party, Delyan Peevski, commented on Kiril Petkov and his request for immunity from the prosecution: "The state should not be dealing with a drug addict. They should send him to a community for treatment! A sad story!"
"I am witnessing a big show! I sincerely doubt what happened yesterday. Let's see, if he gets immunity and this case goes to court, maybe I will believe the actions of the prosecution. But if it is a publicity stunt to revive an Egyptian mummy like Kiki, who is a drug addict as we heard from Delian Dobrev from GERB, I recommend not to let a drug addict run the whole country. He should be sent to a community for treatment. A sad story!" said Peevski to the media in parliament before entering the plenary hall.
Asked to comment on the request of GERB's leader Boyko Borisov to be prime minister, Peevski responded:
"That is GERB's commitment, let them do it!"
He added: "What surprised me is that according to national television, there has been no arrest of Goranov, Borisov and Arnaudova, and this is an illusion. We heard from all the speakers on the shows that it was normal for the prime minister to arrest whoever he wished, including the leader of the opposition." Remember this - today I am telling you, on December 10, 2024, if you, colleagues, do not take a stance that it is normal for a prime minister to arrest Bulgarian citizens, something monstrous will happen in Bulgaria if this is allowed, that anyone who is a Bulgarian prime minister can arrest!
The MRF group will go to Radev, I will not go, he also said, responding to the question whether he will attend the consultations with the president.
"Because that's how I think - that I will not go. I have the right as the leader of the MRF to go wherever I want. When I don't want to go somewhere, I won't go. I have respect for the institution of the president and that is why the MRF group will be there," Delyan Peevski also said.
