 After they demanded full control from the square, the cc party focused on the insignificant - the voting and expulsion of their former activists under the judgement of their new party leader Asen Vasilev, who acts according to old totalitarian rules.

 With new vigor, each day the fire in the ranks of the CC, which is solely run by Asen Vasilev, intensifies, according to one of the former flag bearers - Daniel Lorer.

 Today, the fuel was added to this fire by Kiril Petkov's close colleague Lena Borisvalova, who announced on social media that she may not lead the list in the upcoming election.

 It seems that the leader of the party Asen Vasilev, whom President Rumen Radev personally "baptized" in politics, has truly turned his back on all those who until recently were at the forefront of the structure and enjoyed the love and trust of the resigned Kiril Petkov. In the group of the "deposed" are not only Lorer and Borislova, but also Yavor Bozhanov, Nastimir Ananiev and other members of the "change" party, who openly show through their statements how afraid they are that they will succeed in getting to the party's feeding trough.

 And whether President Rumen Radev will shelter his godchildren under his wing, remains to be seen.

 Two days ago, Daniel Lorer, for whom Nikolay Denkov personally announced that they would not rely on his "services", cleverly admitted that the new leader of the "change" party, Asen Vasilev, governs single-handedly rather than collectively:

 "The single decision-making by him (Asen Vasilev, editor's note) is an attempt to lead the entire CC-DB coalition - an extremely complex coalition of many formations - by one person and his decision. Where are we going - whether we are going left and implementing left-wing policies, automatic payments, etc., whether we are going or not going with "Vazrazhdane", whether we will form coalitions - it's all up to the specific case, whether Lorer will be on the lists... "Some statements being made before the coalition has made a decision."

 According to him, in a democratic coalition, it is very important for decisions to be made after group discussions: "There are nominations, there is a decision-making process and this process eventually takes some form. When you unilaterally announce the decision beforehand, you are trying to frame it and put it in some framework and predefine it before your partners have decided, which is quite offensive to them."

 Just a day later, Nikolay Denkov announced that Yavor Bozhanov will not be on the lists of CC:

 "Yavor Bozhanov will not be on the lists of CC. Whether he will be in DB is a matter of discussions and negotiations. We believe that he should not be." "The important thing is in what direction we want to go and how to convince people that we are the ones who can achieve the goals that are important to them," said Denkov.

 Bozhanov himself has been repeating for at least a year and a half that Asen Vasilev had the intention to "forcefully" separate CC from DB.

 In fact, as early as the end of November 2024, CC requested the resignations of both of them due to their different voting on the appointment of Minister Silvi Kirilov.  

 The Executive Committee of CC even officially announced that they are excluding Lorer from all of their bodies and councils. However, DB supported the two and declared that they cannot agree for someone to be sanctioned because of a "different opinion and voting".  

 This scandal quieted down with time, but before the extraordinary parliamentary elections, it is obviously reigniting with new strength."

 And among the ranks of the recently deposed activists, it is now clear that Kiril Petkov's right-hand woman is Lena Borislavova. On Facebook, she attempts to reflect philosophically on the subject and writes:

 "For every good politician, there comes a moment when being in politics and fulfilling your calling coincide in time and place. But this coincidence does not last forever. And the question is what happens when this moment passes: do you manage to preserve the meaning of being called a "representative of the people" or do you slide down the slippery slope of political survival at any cost, driven by the instinct for self-preservation and readiness to compromise, dictated by career aspirations?"

 Probably for every unbiased reader who distinguishes between the desired and the real, these revelations sound self-righteous and arrogant. "But this hardly comes as a surprise to anyone. It was clear from the beginning what kind of promises the leaders of the CC party were making and what they were actually capable of doing, as their political godfather, President Rumen Radev, unkindly pointed out.

 The division within CC started a long time ago and intensified when one of the co-chairs, Kiril Petkov, resigned due to revelations about extensive corruption pressure on two district mayors in Sofia and Varna. Following the arrests in Sofia and our seaside capital, a dozen mayors and municipal councillors also resigned.

 In fact, from the moment of its creation until now, the CC's entire political life has been marred by scandals - violations of the Constitution, laws being broken, compromising recordings, corruption, schemes and deceptions." All of this garnished with outrageous incompetence in every field outlines the character of the party which some jokingly call "Continuing the Failures".

 Whether Rumen Radev will gather the scattered under the wings of the long-standing party, remains to be seen very soon.

 In any case, it is a bad record for shedding off any organization, especially before elections. We have many telling examples in this regard, going back in time, starting with the Bulgarian Communist Party-Socialist Party (BCP-BSP), but the most striking and memorable was in the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF), which began back in the distant 2001 and continued throughout the following years. And not only in this union, but also in almost all parties of the status quo.

 The difference with the CC, however, is that at that time competent, knowledgeable and capable people entered politics, proven professionals in their fields and respected by the majority of Bulgarians. Today, when one sees what the CC is doing, one can't help but remember the notable words of Napoleon Bonaparte that stupidity is not a handicap in politics!

For younger readers, it should be clarified that the term "peeling off" in the Bulgarian political context emerged in the early 1990s, immediately after the changes in 1989 and during the transition.
