The “United Serbia” list led by President Aleksandar Vucic would win Serbia’s early parliamentary election on October 25 with 48.6% support, according to a poll by Factor Plus conducted between September 16 and 20. The result is 1.4 percentage points higher than in the previous survey.
Earlier this month, Vucic told Pink TV that he would resign as president on September 27. He is then expected to join the campaign of “United Serbia”, which is led by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party.
The poll places the “Student List – Students Win”, backed by the country’s protesting students, in second place. It would receive 37.1% of the vote, an increase of 5.6 percentage points compared with the previous survey.
“The campaign is heating up, and only once it gets moving will we see how the percentages change. The Serbian Progressive Party is successfully holding on to its electorate. If this remains the case, it could count on an absolute majority,” Factor Plus executive director Vladimir Peic told the newspaper.
Peic said that after the National Movement of Serbia, Ecological Uprising and New Face of Serbia withdrew from the election, the opposition front around the student list had become more unified.
The student movement began its election campaign on September 10 in Novi Sad. The city was also the starting point for mass public unrest after the concrete canopy of its renovated railway station collapsed on November 1, 2024. Sixteen people died and one person was seriously injured.
Students subsequently blocked more than 60 faculties and led anti-government protests. They blamed the authorities for the incident and raised anti-corruption demands. In May 2025, the protesting students called for early parliamentary elections and continued to hold demonstrations.
