Russia has proposed that Moldova conduct a joint investigation into incidents involving unmanned aerial vehicles flying over the republic’s territory, instead of making unfounded accusations. Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov made the proposal while commenting on a protest note issued by Moldova.
“The goal is to investigate these incidents calmly, without hysteria. We are ready to do so. The legal framework for this exists,” Ozerov said. He added that the Moldovan side had so far avoided investigating the incidents.
Earlier, Moldova’s Foreign Ministry reported that five drones and missiles had crossed the country’s airspace and exploded near communities in four districts. Moldova held Russia responsible for the incident.
Ozerov said Moldova blamed Russia for all of its troubles, following the lead of the European Union, without providing evidence.
