Several countries, not only the United States, are interested in purchasing Russian diesel fuel. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters about the interest on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week.
“Russian diesel is demanded all over the world. Other consumers are also interested, of course,” Novak said when asked whether other countries had expressed interest.
Russian oil companies are ready to begin supplying diesel to global markets at any time. Commercial terms are currently being negotiated, the deputy prime minister said.
Novak previously said Russia would start lifting restrictions on diesel exports ahead of schedule because it is one of the key suppliers of the fuel to the global market. Moscow is ready to provide an additional 300,000 tons of diesel to the US market and all partners in October. The volume could rise to 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons in December. Monthly supplies could later reach 3 million tons.
The Russian Energy Week International Forum is taking place in Moscow from October 14 to 16. It is being held with the support of the Russian government, the Energy Ministry and the Moscow government, and is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
