On the basis of Art. 81 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the bill proposed by TISP to amend and supplement the Criminal Code with signature 51-554-01-178 has been withdrawn. This was commented by TISP leader Slavi Trifonov on his Facebook page.
By the way, from the word "bill" it becomes clear that this is a project, not a law. In order for it to become a law, a series of procedures are needed - and most importantly, it must be voted on in the National Assembly. I am absolutely sure that 99% of the journalists and public figures who commented on this bill have not even read it. Least of all Boyko Borisov. I even think that Boyko Borisov has never read any draft law in his entire life. But that's a different topic.
The draft law in question did not even mention any revision of freedom of speech. "It's simply absurd for 'There is Such a People' to want something like this. The discussion was about protecting the personal space of every single person, so that no one can be blackmailed through personal photos, for example, like some very unscrupulous people do at the moment. Actually, I'm writing all of this because the people who made this draft law deserve respect. Whether anyone will bother to read it, even though it was withdrawn today, that's their job. I will quote the words of a great man who is no longer with us, but I had the honor to know and communicate with him - Rangel Vachanov. May he rest in peace! And he used to tell me: 'No one can be free if they don't want to be free!' And he was right."
