The royal family has released a statement to bTV regarding the recent leaked documents about the "Epstein" scandal. The name of Kiril Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (Prince of Preslav) is mentioned in them - the second son of King Simeon II Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
It appears in a 2017 list where Saxe-Coburg-Gotha is listed as a "plus one" to Sydney Finch - the former wife of British businessman Charles Finch.
According to the royal family's office, "the prince does not know and has never met Jeffrey Epstein".
"The prince's name appears on a list of over 200 invited guests to an event from many years ago, related to the BAFTA awards. The event was not organized by Epstein and the invitation was not from him, and he did not attend the event. According to the position, no member of the Royal Family either knows or has seen Epstein on any occasion.
The list with the name of the Bulgarian prince is connected with a celebration before the 2017 BAFTA Awards. The email appears to have been sent to Jeffrey Epstein from publicist Peggy Siegal, who writes:
"Barbara Broccoli (producer of 007) and Jessica de Rothschild (daughter of Sir Evelyn) and I are hosting our second annual dinner before the BAFTA Awards at Spencer House. You are invited. Noel will send you the invitation and guest list. All the famous personalities from the British and American cultural elite will be in attendance."
