"BSP is the only party in Bulgaria with truly functioning democratic mechanisms. This is important not only for our future, but also for democracy in our country as we know it."
This statement was made by the Chairman of the National Council of BSP, Krum Zarkov, at a meeting with nearly one hundred young people from the City Council of the Youth Union in BSP-Sofia.
According to him, the Socialist Party has a future because its strong presence in the political life is crucial for the restoration of a fair democratic process in the country. "We will fight against the system that allows the dominance of individuals who are carriers of corruption and dismantling of democracy," Zarkov was adamant.
The Chairman of the Youth Union in BSP and member of parliament, Gabriel Vulkov, emphasized the role of young socialists as a corrective force within the party. "We are the first ones to stand behind the chairman when we know he is working for the benefit of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, but also the first ones to tell him when he makes a mistake. We will continue to offer alternatives and effective solutions to the problems of the youth," he emphasized.
In a long and frank conversation, they discussed the current political situation, the direction of the BSP, and the need for a strong left in Bulgaria. The youth gave a positive evaluation of the work of Gabriel Valkov and Atanas Atanasov in the 51st National Assembly.
MP Atanas Atanasov thanked the young socialists from Sofia for their support, high praise, and tireless work in preparing for the congress. "BSP has proven that it is alive and has a future ahead of itself as long as young people continue to fight for the realization of left-wing ideas," Atanasov concluded.
