Skepticism among Western countries over continuing support for Ukraine is growing, Yuliya Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna negotiations on military security and arms control, said.
Speaking during a session of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation, Zhdanova described Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent visit to London as telling. She said Ukrainian representatives themselves had made no secret of the trip’s “emergency” nature.
Zhdanova linked the visit to growing doubts in European countries about whether continued support for Ukraine was feasible. She also said that, in her view, the corrupt nature of the Ukrainian regime was now evident to everyone.
The head of the Russian delegation added that Western representatives who support Zelensky were reluctant to discuss the issue openly at the official level. She attributed this to the fact that, in her words, “they themselves nurtured this hydra.”
The remarks were made during OSCE discussions in Vienna on military security and arms control.
