Russian and US representatives have raised the possibility of cooperation in the energy sector during their contacts, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow on October 5.
“Indeed, the possibility of interaction and cooperation in the energy sector comes up in our discussions with our US counterparts,” Peskov said.
The Kremlin spokesman declined, however, to comment on claims by The New York Times that the sale of Lukoil’s foreign assets is among the issues being discussed by Moscow and Washington as part of talks on resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
“I will not comment specifically on this report,” Peskov said at the briefing.
